Hello, all!
In case you weren't aware, Joe and I have left for L.A.! Last night we were presented with colorful, tasty treats topped with rubber ducks. It was soon decreed these two imitation aquatic fowl, "Whistle Fart" and the ex-convict "Rubber the Duckie", would be your guides to the first few entries of my new blog. We finished packing (mostly) late last night and, after one last trip to Martin's for supplies, got some rest before leaving this morning around 9 am.

Our trip was pretty eventful: our battery died during our lunch stop and needed a jump, I got a mild migraine (and Joe had a yourgraine), we missed our exits four times, and we spent the rest of the time listening to Bob Newheart, Anthony Daniels, and Classic Rock. All in all, we made good time, though! Four states today: Pennsylvania, Ohio, Indiana (where we stopped at a Cracker Barrel in Terre Haute), and Illinois.
So, here we are in Effingham (now THERE'S a great name...) at the Motel 6. There's no fridge in the room, so we can't re-freeze the ice pack for our cooler. Our solution?
Fill the sink with ice. We keep it classy. Now it's bedtime for Bonzo! We'll be up bright and early tomorrow to see the St. Louis Arch!
We'll keep ya posted!
Chuck
